Stolen Phrases - Tina Fey Installment

AGREE. Always agree and say YES.

Now, obviously in real life you’re not always going to agree with everything everyone says. But the Rule of Agreement reminds you to respect what your partner has created and to at least start from an open-minded place. Start with a YES and see where that takes you.

Don't only to say yes, but YES, AND.

Don’t be afraid to contribute. It’s your responsibility to contribute. Always make sure you’re adding something to the discussion. Your initiations are worthwhile.

Make statements.

There are no mistakes only opportunities.

Stolen Phrases II RE: God

There doesn’t need to be a God for me. There’s something in people that’s spiritual, that’s godlike. I don’t feel like doing things just because people say so.

I don’t think anyone really knows. You’ll either find out or not when you get there, until then there’s no point thinking about it.

I’m an atheist. But I absolutely love religions and the rituals. Even though I don’t believe in God. We celebrate pretty much every religion in our family with the kids. They love it, and when they say, ‘Are we Jewish?’ or ‘Are we Catholic?’ I say, ‘Well, I’m not, but you can choose when you’re 18.

Stolen Phrases

CHANGE THEE WAY TO PERCEIVE AND CHANGE ALL MEMORY ~ Old TOPI Proverb.

Anyone who swims with the current will reach the big music steamship; whoever swims against the current will perhaps reach the source.

Greedy humanity always wants more than life; it wants to get into paradise, its glittering supermarket of rewards for a life of hardship.  It makes me want to laugh!

I’ve changed my mind, its what its there for. Jhon Balance

Energy without insight is monotonous.
Insight without humor is preachy.
Humor without frustration is toothless.
Frustration without humanity is destructive.
And humanity without energy is defeatist.

We define ourselves by the best that is in us not the worst that has been done to us.

I fall in Love with the Light

The sun's warm, white light shone down.
I tipped my hat back so I could feel it on my face and drink it in.
Eyes closed briefly then a slight uphill
the incline made my legs feel bogged down.
I noticed trees without leaves blocked the sun
so it had a Brion Gysin DreamMachine feel to it.

Droning, drumming, singing in my ears through my lungs:
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

This moment of love is directed to you.
Exhausted effort into the atmosphere through me to you.
A moment crystallized into thought:
Sometimes I don't verbalize it correctly
but make no mistake there is love.

What is suffering? When you desire something so much your heart hurts.

You are my temple and my garden, my sacred ground and in you I see all of my dreams.  Perhaps it’s natural for a parent to see in their child all that is unspoiled and good but if you can I want you to see it in yourself.  No matter what ugliness and destruction you may witness, I want you to always believe that the tiniest glimpse of beauty here and there is a reflection of our love.  It is real.  There exists such a place, such a sacred space.  You have only to envision it, to dare to dream it.  It is within you, within all of us. I see it all the time.

Cutting Corn on 9/14/13

L. and A. were playing in the kitchen; L. was cutting corn husks with scissors.  A. was pretending to make smoothies and hot sauce with the blender.  A. says to L., "Why are you cutting corn"?  L. replies, "I don't know if I can answer that".

The end.
