I fall in Love with the Light

The sun's warm, white light shone down.
I tipped my hat back so I could feel it on my face and drink it in.
Eyes closed briefly then a slight uphill
the incline made my legs feel bogged down.
I noticed trees without leaves blocked the sun
so it had a Brion Gysin DreamMachine feel to it.

Droning, drumming, singing in my ears through my lungs:
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

This moment of love is directed to you.
Exhausted effort into the atmosphere through me to you.
A moment crystallized into thought:
Sometimes I don't verbalize it correctly
but make no mistake there is love.
